Longtime Brunswick purveyors of vintage collectables and mid-century style, Melbourne
Vintage are excited to announce the opening of their new store on bustling and lively
shopping destination Sydney Road.
For over ten years Melbourne Vintage owners Elaine Reyes and Mitchell Scott have dealt in
preloved and vintage homewares, fashions, hi-fi, cameras and more, both online and through
their Hardy Street warehouse.
The creative duo – Elaine is a photographer, Mitchell is a musician – have been living in
Melbourne’s inner-city suburb of Brunswick for over 12 years.
“We know and love the area,” says Elaine. “It’s been our dream to open a store right in this part
of Brunswick.”
Elaine and Mitchell see the opening of the Melbourne Vintage store as a natural progression of
their business. They are excited to create a place where homewares and fashion lovers can
connect with beautiful and stylish vintage items that embody enduring quality and
craftsmanship.
Having sold furniture to contestants on renovation show The Block and decked out bars and
cafes in Brunswick, Fitzroy, Richmond and beyond, they are no strangers to collectors in
Australia.
There is a sustainability message in promoting beautiful vintage furniture, decor and fashion
too.
“We love finding pieces of well-made furniture with quality that’s hard to match, which have
years of life left in them. Furniture that can be kept in the family and passed down to the kids,”
says Mitchell.
“We also love finding pieces that work in the most contemporary settings.”
While their Hardy Street warehouse will continue to hold the periodic sales events the brand has
become renowned for, the new store will give the business more scope to grow.
The Melbourne Vintage store will be green with plants and terrariums for sale, as well as a
curated selection of new and vintage items.
Melbourne Vintage will open on May 16, 2015 at 351 Sydney Road, Brunswick, 3056.
