Direct from Elcho Island, Djuki Mala (Djuki meaning ‘chooky’ with a Yolngu accent and mala meaning ‘mob’) perform a high-energy and stunning fusion of traditional Indigenous culture, contemporary dance and storytelling.

Goin’ Back: Moreland’s History in Song @ Mechanics’ Institute

For this show, Moreland songwriters have been invited to pen original songs inspired by photographs from Moreland local history archives. Goin’ Back will illuminate the historical characters, places and events of Moreland and Darebin’s and exhibit evocative images from Melbourne’s most populous songwriting postcodes.

Furbelows Swing Party @ Spotted Mallard

The Furbelows are the ultimate 1930s party band. Drawing on inspiration from intricate vocal bands such as The Mills Brothers, The Andrews and Boswell Sisters, and the fiery guitar work of the French gypsy virtuoso Django Reinhardt.
For this special show, The Furbelows team up with Melbourne’s most beloved tap dancer Thomas Wadelton to bring you a night of high intensity swing music, heartbreaking romance and utterly contagious fun.
